Final details for BarCamp Tampa Bay, this weekend!


BarCamp Tampa Bay is upon us! Below is a rundown of details, info and last minute developments to prepare you for this weekend. We look forward to seeing you there!

  1. It is not too late to invite your friends and colleagues! They can register at the door. Send the invitations NOW!
  2. It is also not too late to present at BarCamp. Prepare a 10, 30 or 45 minute rant or presentation that relates to your passion, breakthrough or expertise in technology, innovation or new media and show up at 8:30AM the day of BarCamp to sign up to present.
  3. If you are presenting please check out our video for facility and resource information.
  4. Date: This weekend, October 11-12.  The 1st day of BarCamp (Saturday) will be themed “Dev Day” and the 2nd day of BarCamp (Sunday) will be themed “New Media Day”. You are invited to attend and participate in both days.
  5. Time: Registration / Check-in on Sat. is 8:30 to 9 AM. At 9 Am we start setting up the agenda. On Sunday, registration begins at 9 until 9:30.
  6. The first 150 pre-registered folks per day get tee-shirts and a box lunch.

  10. Facebook Group: Don’t forget to check out our site on Facebook at http://groups.to/barcamptampa.  Sign up to the group, post a message or a picture and get more information about the event. After the event you can post even more and keep up with other attendees. We will put additional information about the event, topics and attendees.
  11. Follow us on Twitterhttp://twitter.com/barcamptampa Post messages for all to see using either @barcamptampa or a hash tag (#) with #barcamptampa so everyone can see your posts.   12. There is also Twitter search (formerly Summize) so you can follow along using the Search function (at the bottom of your Twitter page) and search on either #barcamptampa or @barcamptampa. It’s a little extra work but well worth it and you will meet and be able to follow other Tweeters from BarCamp—a great way to build your network with people who share your interests in tech and New Media.
  13. Grouptweet: We will be experimenting with another site for groups called Grouptweet. We have created an additional Twitter account for this event so that people can send a group Tweet to each other at the event. After you have signed up for Twitter, find and follow @barcamptampabay. You will be able to post a message to the group by using a Direct Message that will be distributed to the entire group following @barcamptampabay.   14. Hireme.TV will be at BarCamp to conduct optional short video interviews with job seekers. These interviews will then be available on their web site for hiring companies to see. If you are planning to conduct an interview, you might want to bring a dress shirt and jacket. You will be seen from the waist up in the interview. You can change clothes for the rest of BarCamp.
